just purchased a 09 CC and it came with a am/fm/cd ( single ) stero and when i questioned the dealer i was told that ipod and xm/sirius is not an option for me unless i have a 6 disc cd.

1. is this offered aftermarket and is it a clean install (ipod/xm/sirius)

2. or can i just swap out a 6 disc cd w/o any issues to use the OEM accesory ipod/xm/sirius

any help is appreciated......stressed!!!

You are in the same boat as I am. I just bought an '09 4X4 SE with the standard Single CD/AM/FM system. Spoke to a Nissan parts rep and they confirmed that you cannot upgrade the audio system. I'd like to get the iPod connection too, but the only way is to do that is with an aftermarket system from Best Buy or other car audio place. The only downside is that it would likely affect my 3yr/36mo warranty on anything that goes wrong with the audio system. I would check with the installer and see what kind of warranty they offer. If you hear of any other way, I'd like to know too!

If you have the money you can get some really great systems out their.

Let me share what I have, keep in mind I got this system JUST as soon as I could when I bought my 2008 CC 4x4..... still was in the 2 digits on mileage

I have the Alpine IVA-205 with all the Bluetooth connections. and ipod connection(which is in my glove box)

I also got ALL new speakers in all 4 doors from MEMPHIS audio.
Also, I have a SuperCrewsound sub box that holds 2-10 subs also from MEMPHIS audio.
Top it off with a 5 Channel Power amp from MEMPHIS audio as well.

My system cranks if I want it too and the clarity is the MOST important thing!!
Forgot to mention, I got the SIRIUS satellite hook up as well.

Hope this helps you all......I'm new to the site and didn't know their was a forum ....SO HERE I AM

Facekiller you're my new best friend.... LOL.  Check out my Cardomain page to see my old Memphis layout.  www.cardomain.com/id/kcidmil

To be quite honest upgrading and loosing your 3yr warranty on the stereo is worth it.  Unless you got the RF system, the nissan warranty is not worth jack.  It's all Panasonic for the non RF factory equipment and just about anything will sound better.

I would check out www.crutchfield.com  They'll tell you everything you need to use XM/Sirius, be it an module or just a complete H/U change out.  And remember this, it's in the dealer's and part dept best $$$$ interest to have you keep factory items.

Feel lucky you don't have OnStar like my wife's Cobalt.  It'll cost me an extra $400 for the module to use an aftermarket stereo in her car.  Yeah, she's keeping the Factory Pioneer system.
