I have a 2001 frontier cc with manual windows and doors with a factory
installed alarm that i haven't used since i bought it. Recently I installed a
stereo and disconnected the negative batt terminal. After testing and
driving, i came back to the truck and opened the door to find that the alarm
(not used in eight years) went off and I was unable to start the car. I now
cant touch the car without the alarm sounding... Is there a way to reset or
disconnect the factory alarm so i can get on with my life?

Well, just incase anyone else has the same problem, i want to let you know
that what the stealer tells us is usually garbage. They kept telling me to
unlock the driver side door and lock it back again to reset the factory alarm
on a manual window and door lock frontier...
Anyway, the way to reset it is to keep the negative battery terminal off, put
the keys in the ignition and turn it half way, then attach the negative
terminal and voila.

The dealer is correct with the info on disarming with either door lock cylinder. Are you sure it is in fact a factory system before you condemn the dealer????? Your reset procedure sounds like an aftermarket procedure.
