2002 XE-V6 bought used in 2006.
I found a black plastic box a little bigger than a deck of cards under the dashboard just to the right of the steering column. It has a little door on it. Inside are some configurable pins or jumpers. It has a wiring connector with quite a few wires connected to it. There is also a wire that connects to a flat plug looking device that is screwed to the bottom of the dash. It has "6900A" on one side. The other side has some instructions for configuring the pins.
Is this a security device of some kind?

Does it say Nissan on it anywhere or have a part # on it??? It may be a control unit for an aftermarket security system. Is it mounted with a bracket or zipped tied to something?

I've discovered that it is a security system.

I haven't been able to find any instructions for it yet though...
