I am going to replace the Timing Belt and all additional parts on my 02 Frontier with 115K.  Does anybody know what all needs to be replaced and how hard it really is to replace.  I understand that I have to replace all the belts and water pump, but is there any addtional seals and/or shoudl I replace the tensioner?  Should I get the parts form NAPA or only use Factory parts?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Here is the list of parts I replaced

 1 13028-0b785 belt
 1 13070-42l00  tensioner
 1 13072-7b000  spring tensioner
 1 13510-10y10  crank seal
 1 21200-v7206  thermostat
 1 21010-4s10a  water pump
 1 21014-0w000  water pump gasket
 2 13042-0b001  cam seals

 1 21501-4s100 coolant hose
 1 21503-4s100 coolant hose

 1 14055-4s100 more coolant hoses
 1 14055-8z300 another coolant hose

I replaced the last two because of the location, hard to get to when the engine fully together.

Thanks.  Did you get the kit from Courtesy Nissan?  How long did it take?

No kit from courtesy . Bought at my local  nissan dealer 10% over cost employee price.  You can get better prices at parts dinosaur but they are aftermarket.
Some things are cheaper for an example water pump , tensioner etc.
I would go oem t belt though.

Not trying to be a wise guy, but if you have to ask how tough a job it is, you shouldn't be attempting it. Air tools are needed, patience are needed removing and installing the seals, proper tensioning of the belt is critical, setting the engine on top dead center #1 cyl is critical, etc etc. Auto zone has NEW water pumps for about 1/3 the price of a Nissan pump.

I understand and I have a lot of experience working on vehicles I was just wondering if it was a 6-8 hour job or a 12-14 hour job.  I do agree you can do alot of damage to a motor if not done properly.  Thanks for the information on the parts.

Do you need to have a tool to check the tension of the belt?

By All-data, it's about a 6 hr job. Can be done in 3-4. With the belt tight between the crank and the right and left cam sprockets, be sure you can twist the belt 90 degrees between the 2 cam sprockets.
