Just clicked on the G Force performance chip link at the top of the page......*ad* states that you can get *up to* 60HP gain and 4-7mpg gain.  Has anyone tried one of these (or another manufacturer's) chips with any real results (and not done any other mods to skew the results)?  seems to me that in today's world, ANY car manufacturer would put whatever chip gave the most performance/fuel economy in the ECU already to make their products more appealing to consumers.  Are these aftermarket chips a load of tripe?  Do they affect smog test results negatively?

I think all they are is a resister to increase the resistance in the cyl head temp circuit, which richens up the mixture. Did it a lot myself on the old 260-280Z cars.

yeah I know it is someting simple like that, and I read somewhere it sends a different signal re intake air temp.  However, if it just richens up the mixture, then an increase in mileage should not be possible, no?
