Have you had it scanned for codes? Check your owners manual
for needed services.

At what mileage did the light come on?  Exactly 100K?  If the truck doesn't have any issues with performance, idle, etc than it is most likely an O2 sensor.  Not claiming to be an expert either.  Also you can bring it to Pep Boys, Advanced Auto Parts,  NAPA and they will check the codes for free so you can find out what the code exactly is and post it for further assistance.  Once you have the code frontierguy will know what the problem is.

Hi Frontierguy, the service lights came on at 108k went to the dealer

??? what kind of aftermarket cat do you recommend? if it is the cat

that is giving the codes, evelbay or curtesey parts

price on evelbay is $118 and curtesey $520 dealer $1699 just one side

could there be a big price varience? thanks

The price is up to you, what ever you want to pay. The
other concern is whether or not the cat has come apart
which can cause a concern with the material being drawn
into the engine which will score the cyls and rings
creating a oil consumption concern.

Ive also had this same problem, with an 06 nismo

But I have also replaced both cats one with factor 1200.00 bleh and one aftermarket, 500.00. Both in the same year. March of 2010 then November 2010 plus the O2 sensors.

Well when I replaced my bank 1 cat back in Nov. (Nov. was the aftermarket cat) My service engin light appered once again after 2-3 weeks of driving. So I went back to the dealer, They stated since its an aftermarket cat the sensors will not read correct they are not designed to read aftermarket parts. So whats being stated is since I have to replace my bank1 cat with a factory part the process will be to destroy bank2 while removing bank1 then rebuild the system with new factory parts along with new O2 sensors x2 for a grand total of 2700.00. all this just to pass emissions even tho the truck runs clean. but in the county of maricopa in arizona if your service engine light is on it will not pass emissions.

has anyone else had this problem or know of an easier solution?

Why would it "destroy" bank 2 while removing bank 1????
That does not make any sense!!!!
