I have a 2003 VG33ER with a spun bearing, only 80,000 miles on the engine. I haven't pulled the crank to check on the damage. But i'm wondering if I could get away with just having the crank machined and replacing the bearings without pulling the engine\pistons. I don't have the money for a rebuild, not to mention the parts are hard to come by for the super charged engine (at least the pistons). Any suggestions?

If it spun, the crank is usually junk along with the rod.
Either way, the engine has to come out.
