Hello all, Newbie forum guy here. I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar behavior with their Frontier. I've got a 2001 Crew Cab SE with the VG33E motor. It has over 178,000 and I just replaced the heads after blowing the pasenger side gasket. While I had the motor apart I replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor. After 5 days of driving it the motor started hesitating upon accelleration after the truck was warmed up (approx 20min). My first course of action was to replace the fuel filter and the problem still exsisted. My next attempt was to replace the ignition coil which didn't fix it either. The fuel pump was replaced at 75,000 due to a warranty recall. One thing I notice now is that the fuel pump seems quieter when I turn the key on unlike before where it made a louder audible noise. I wouldn't expect an electric pump to have a deteriorating performance issue but more like it just stops working. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated and thanks for taking the time to read my rambling!

You replaced the "heads" or the head gaskets??? Was it the
fuel pump or the sending unit in the recall(the sending
unit was involved in a recall not the pump). Did you use genuine Nissan tune up parts??? How about the distributor-
pull the inspection plate off and see if there is any
debris in there(like tiny ball bearings). The dist may be
failing with that many miles on it.

Thanks for the reply Frontierguy....The 2 pics I attached show the motor w the heads removed & new ones installed. Let me try and be more accurate.

I replaced the heads with a set of re-mans that I purchased from Al's Machine in FL. and the gaskets also. (Spark Plugs-NGK Platinum) (Wires-Bosch) (Cap, Rotor, Coil-Beck/Arnley) It was the sending unit, not the pump that was replaced. The distributor was fine w/no debris or broken parts inside when I took it apart to replace the coil. I am driving the truck everyday and as long as I keep my trips under 1/2hr it runs okay. After that it behaves as I explained. Let me know what other info I can provide. Can someone chime in also that has done a fuel pump and let me know what kind of job that is to do? I have no fear of doing it but I want to be prepared.
