I recently purchased a 2012 Frontier crew cab, SV, 6cyl. I really like the truck.
One thing I notice and I noticed it when I test drove other Frontiers. The idle
speed will shudder or vibrate. Not constantly. It will do every time I so
something electronic like use the power windows. It's like it draws so much
power to do that the idle is effected and you can feel it. That doesn't seem
right to me. I have had 4 cyl. vehicles that don't do that even with the A/C.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?
Thanks

I think you are very sensitive where most people would not
even notice. If you experienced it on other Frontiers, it
must be normal. The ECU should compensate for loads on the
engine and adjust the idle speed accordingly to a certain
extent. Also remember you are dealing with a new, tight
engine that requires some "break-in" to loosen things up.

I just bought one last night...sounds like we have the same vehicle. I will try
and pay attention to how mine behaves and let you know. Overall, I like the
truck so far. Let's hope for the best...

My husband and I just brought home our new 2012 Frontier SL Crew Cab last night, and just a few minutes ago after reading this thread, I ran out into the garage to check out the idle...

We test drove the same truck a few weeks ago, and my husband owned a new 2005 Frontier LE Crew Cab for a while.  This idle shutter has never been noticed...and we are car people.

What I did notice was that while I was waiting for the engine to "settle down" after initially cranking it up (here in the Atlanta area, it isn't too terribly cold) was that the engine seemed to rev up, then back down, then back up, through about 3 cycles of this before it finally settled in.  At that point I began playing with all combinations of rolling my windows up and down, simultaneously even....Nothing.  There was no change in the idle no matter what I tried to do.

Hope this helps!  Note that we have the SL model, not the SV model.
