I've recently discovered the early Nissan Frontier trucks
had an electric fan option.

Here is a link to a listing on eBay of the Interchange
Part Number: [URL=http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?
_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=NI3113106]NI3113106[/URL
]

I've got a Nissan Hardbody, and an early model Nissan
Frontier electric fan should bolt in with little to no
modifications, and the electrical connectors for this
part might even be found in the Hardbody's electronics.

/610630.jpg">

I looked in the Frontier Service Manual, but all it
showed was the Crank Mounted Cooling Fan.

The traditional "Universal Electric Fans" look capable;
however, I have had bad luck in the past with the
"sandwiched in" temperature sensors that universal
products come with. I would rather find some way to tap
into wiring and sensors that already exist on my Hardbody
instead of trusting my luck to a temperature sensor
remaining in place for 100k miles.

Does anyone on here have one of these earlier Nissan
Frontiers with the electric fan option?

Specifically, I want to know where the connector to the
electric fan goes on the Frontier truck and see if I
might be able to connect that to something on the
Hardbody.

..

My '99 V-6 4x4 Frontier Se was ordered with all options but didn't have the electric fan.

My '99 was an early '99. I understand that late '99s did have the fans.

My '95 V-6 4x4 Hard Body Xe did not have the electic fan.

I believe the electic fans were to help cool the A/C condencer..

Can you post the URL of the pictures?

Sorry I can't help... Don S..

Yeah, I wasn't able to get this forum to correctly show
any of the pictures and such. Is that feature broken?

OK, I'm going to repost the whole thing, this time
removing the BB Code. Any info on how to show a pic or
hyperlink would be appreciated. I'd also like to change
my handle from "jp2nissan8" to "jp2code" (what I use on
other forums).

@lakota: To see the Electric Fan section for the 1999 VG
Frontier, go to this link:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/frontier/1999-VG/

The section you want to look at is called EC. Here's the
link for that:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/frontier/1999-VG/ec.pdf

In the EC manual, the Electric Fan section is from EC-450
to EC-458 (8 pages).

Can you find anywhere on your truck where the [Engine
Coolant Temperature Sensor Harness Connector] is? My old
1994 does not have any other connectors there, but I'm
interested to know if your truck does.

From the Service Manual, it seems the only thing that
connects to the fan is the power from the Cooling Fan
Relay and a signal from a Triple Pressure Switch (don't
know exactly what that is).

..

I could see the pictures in the link below but it is a PDF and I haven't figured out how to 'snatch' a picture from a PDF and post it. If any one knows how please let me know!

As a Moderator I can change anything about your membership, change your post count, and I can ban you and block your IP. BUT I CAN NOT change your membership handle. Dang!... I feel so inadequate...

You can try for a second membership with a new name which is against the rules but I can over look that by blocking the first membership by changing the password.

Good Luck.. Don S..

Where in Tejas are you located? If you were close enough,
I'd just lean over and look under your hood.

I'm going to see if this works again....

Trying to show this pic from your album:

Nope. Doesn't work.

..

I live three and a half miles east of Burleson and I-35w half way between Burleson and Rendon. About 12 miles south of Ft.Worth.

For others that might wonder

Most of the Pictures I post are hosted at photo bucket or in my Frontier photo gallery.

Here is the set up to post a picture:

[ZMG]put URL here with no gaps[/ZMG] repace the Z s with I s.

For Internet pictures right click the picture, click on properties and copy the URL…

Again.. [ZMG]put URL here with no gaps[/ZMG] repace the Z s with I s.

Also if you can’t copy an Internet photo (like one in a PDF) into your picture file you probably can’t post it.

If any thing I’m saying is wrong please let me know so I can correct it.!!!

Have a warm one.. Don S..

Can you demo that it actually works?

Again, using your pic here:

http://www.nissanfrontier.org/mgallery/lakota/2006-10-
15_235106_99Flower.jpg

If I put the (IMG) tag around it (using brackets instead
of parenthesis), the site breaks the link when it tries
to change it to an "a href=" tag.

It could be that I don't have IMG posting privileges.

One more time:

I don't knows what's happening... It's late...

When you copied the URL and pput in in the post it should have automaticly become a Hyper-Link like the Orange one below

http://www.nissanfrontier.org/mgallery/lakota/2006-10-
15_235106_99Flower.jpg

http://www.nissanfrontier.org/mgallery/lakota/2006-10-15_235 106_99Flower.jpg

The picture works with a freshly copied URL not a second hand copy.

The Site will not show the IMG  and the /IMG inside the brackets. I don't know why... I work on it later. Try to up load a picture in your Gallery and I'll work on it more tomorrow

Later.. Don S..

If you're a Moderator, do you have an Edit option on my
posts? If so, you could look at what I used and tell me
if it was wrong or not.

Testing...
