My 2006 Frontier has a malfunctioning fuel gauge and when pumping
gas at full flow capacity, the tank will spew gas back out of the tank.
Has anyone else had similar issues, could they be related, and what
are the fix(es).

Thanks

You need a new fuel sending unit to correct the gauge
concern. Sounds like the VCV is stuck closed causing the
spew. Is the SES on? Check with your dealer, there is a
recall on the fuel sending unit = PC042 NTB10-031B

Thanks for the response.  The SES light is on, but the code indicates that it's an issue with the catalytic converters.  I will contact a a dealer on the recall on the sending unit.  On a separate note, the truck's heater takes a very long time to heat up, and has now begun to work intermittently.   Any ideas on that?

thanks again

The cats are warranted for 8 yrs/80K miles. Check your
coolant level, also check the trans fluid(milky), may have
a trans cooler failure in the rad which will destroy the
trans.(warranty has been extended on the trans due to the
cooler problems). Better go see your dealer with these
concerns.

Again thanks-  So the intermittent heater issues could be related to the trans cooler problems?   My sister-in-law had that happen with her Pathfinder.   I'll check those levels.

When it rains it pours.   I now have an SES light on my 99 Pathfinder.  The code is P0505 which  is the Idle Control System Malfunction.   The engine is very sluggish when I start the vehicle, and it idles pretty poorly.   The most common fix appears to be rplacing the Idle Air Control Valve.  Anyone have any other recommendations or insight?

The heater concern is due to low coolant level caused by
the faulty rad cooler which puts coolant into the ATF. If
memory serves me correctly, I believe that coolant is also
a culprit on the IACV problem on the 99 Path.
