About 6 weeks ago I noticed that when
I turn the switch to the "on" position, I
could hear the normal hiss of the fuel
pumpp but I also started hearing
another sound. The only way to
describe it was a "groaning" sound
from under the hood on the right side.
Groaning sound lasts as long as the fuel
pump is priming. When I try to start
the engine, it takes a long time to start
and the first couple of seconds it idles
rough. After that the truck runs fine.
After shutting the engine off, the longer
it it sits, the harder it is to start.

Have you isolated the source of the "groan" noise? Has the
fuel filter been replaced? Are you using a Nissan oil
impregnated air filter? How many miles on vehicle?

(Fram air filter. Original fuel
filter.) You might want to start with a Nissan oil
impregnated air filter, clean the MAFS and replace fuel
filter.
