Hi all
I was having trouble with this thing I never could snap back in place after I put in new filter dealer try same way, even me sould be leaving in there or sould I leave it out ?I can not snap back in after put new fitler in ,I was about to put it up and do it without it !!!
poor design make it hard for us do this ! anyone having this problem ?
and also dealer said I was missing this part I said ok well after they put the part in they can not do either because they was having trouble cannot snap back in , now I see why someone left it out because it was hard to snap back in !!!

the filter sit on top of this thing ! atfer you filter in then you put top back on as i said before so hard snap it back on there no way so i left the thing out and put it up in room it just too hard  !!

i found out that called the pic show was spacer not sure way it sould go upside up or upside down before you put the filter in !

Sorry but I’m not familiar with the I-4 engines. It looks
like it is a form to keep the filter from collapsing. I
hope someone else with post up a solution for you.

i can see why last owner before me took it out because it was hard to clip back on .i finally got it back on  i had to play with it it clip back on. i duuno why dealer could'nt
do it ! even they try hard ! who ever design this becasue it is poor design on that spacer part ! also i forgot that had service manual it show up side up just like you saw on that pic !!

Sounds like operator failure!! I've never had a problem
securing the cover w/ all the parts intact.

frontierguy i hear ya someone took it out ! before i brought it and didnt know it ,it was missing ! glad they told me when they worked on my at dealer.it just took me time get it fit in right !had to wiggy in there finally got it in   whew ! i wonder who took it out from beging with not sure why i bet they was same trouble i was untill i fiqure it out !! thanks goodness i got service manual for this ! truck !! 

so next time i won't have this problem !! unless someone buy this truck they may take it out ! never know !!
