 Paul,

Take it to Nissan for their Free Inspection.

Read the Owner's Manual and Follow the Preventative
 Service.

I recommend useing a Geniune Nissan Oil Filter, Dealer's
sell them on Amazon and EBay for less.

Probly a good idea to change out oil in rear axle and
other 4wd sump's. Take the Rear Axle Vent out and clean
 it
with Diesel Fuel and blow it out with your air compressor
 - Good idea to check and/or clean when you change the
engine oil or about once a year, unless you abuse in
Mud/Water then you're on your own.

Google 2015 Nissan Fontier Service Manual and gain access
or purchase copy - Should be able to buy a copy for less
 than 35 $'s.

If the previous owner took good care of it and didn't
abuse, it should last a long time as long as you take good
care of it and don't abuse.

 Regards,

PS ~ The electrical System and Electronic Module's are
dependant on the Battery. Keep the Battery Terminal's
free from corosion and the cable's tight. If the
Terminal's have corosion, use Bakeing soda & Water
solution along with a toothbrush to clean the corrosion
off. Reconnect the Cable's and then put a Thick coating
of Grease over all the bare metal and the post to prevent
 corrosion. High Temp
water resistant Grease is the Best. Felt Washer's and
Terminal Paint are Junk. The Grease will stay on till you
need to disconnect the cable's. Just use a couple of
paper towel's to wipe the grease off before hand and
 reapply after cable's back on.

If the Cable's won't tighten up, you can get Terminal
Cap's at the auto store to take up the slack to tighten
 cable's.

There are Electronic System's that stay energized along
with LED's. A good battery charger maintainer like the
 Schumacher
SP1297 is good to use every couple month's or so to keep
the battery fully charged and will show if the battery is
able to hold a full charge.
