I have the common problem on the nissan Frontier where I
hear a flapping noise on start up, the noise goes away when
the HVAC recirculation button is pressed to recirc.

Instead of a quick fix, I'd like to replace the part.

Link

Is the correct part name the recirculation actuator?

Thanks,
David

David,

I would go to nissanpartsdeal.com and plug in your VIN #.
Then search the parts diagram.

Now which part is actually causeing the problem needs to be
determined. If it was me, I would consult with a
professional that has experience with the Nissan Frontier
Specifically, so as not to spend money on the wrong part or
part's.

Me I would probly bite the bullet and take it to Nissan,
but if You know a Professional that You can TRUST, then
that's an alternative as well. Nissan charge's more, but
dealing with all the plastic part's, they might have more
experience to prevent breakage, cause as time goe's by the
Plastic Connector's get Brittle and easily crack and/or
break, then that's another repair on top of the original
repair.

Someone may come along that has had this specific problem
and have more helpful advice.

Good Luck,
