I have an '06 Frontier 4.0L with a collapsed front
passenger's side catalytic converter. Yes, it shattered,
powdered, and fell into the second converter stopping it
up. I have been attempting to clean the second converter
and it's coming along nicely. My question is, will the
truck run semi-OK with the first converter missing and the
second either cleaned or replaced. The reason I ask is it
looks like a major job to remove the first converter and
replace it. :(

Longarch,
I don't know the answer, But I have heard that when one
of the Cat's Inside's come's apart, that is close to the
Exhaust Header that debrie from the Cat can get sucked
back into the Engine and cause a LOT of Damage.
If no one come's on here to help more, I would talk with
the Nissan Service Manager and/or the Senior Master Tech
that know's about the Gen2 4 Liter's, BEFORE running the
Engine.
