Hello all,
I'm new to the forums. I have a V6 05' CC LE. I have looked high and low for a dual exhuast system for the fronty's and have just about decided that it's just out there. Before I give up, has anyone else come across dual exhaust setups for the fronty?
Thanks....
Charlie

Yep... called a local muffler shop. You can actually come out ahead on price compared to a Cat-Back system. Plus, you also have the option of choosing your muffler and where the tips exit.

i definitely think kcidmil has it there..you will come out ahead and probably in performance as well than a bolt on, but then the decision comes back to the question...what muffler...i know that SLR uses the gibson cat back as their choice in their performance package, so if you can still find the gibson dual in, dual out...or use 2 gibsons, or even magnaflow as some suggest....it just seems like a bog of choices out there, i personally like the setup that the custom tube products offered with the dual pipes into the single muffler with dual out....thothey don't offer it anymore it could be used as a model to take to a muffler shop, both pipes exit at the stock exit point and looked nice, gave a sporty look to exhaust as well, and they claimed their set up showed great dyno improvements. another muffler i was perusing was the flowmaster hushpower II, tho i'm not real sure how it would sound, or how their jet laminar technology where they claim using progressively diff sized tube in the muffler to "speed" up exhast gases, almost sounded like "restriction" to me, don't know...can't seem to find any test data on it, the only website i've found on muffler tests that seemed worth reading was on a site based in australia

kcidmil and frontyfan,
Thanks for the tips, I'll try that. Frontyfan, my last fronty was the same as yours, 01' SE CC Shortbed Silver. It's a great truck. If you guys no anyone looking for one, I'm selling it. It's only got 52,000 miles and clean as the day it was new. Thanks again guys for the exhaust system information.

Honestly, when it comes to mufflers for our trucks, it comes down to more of sound preference. Unless you've modded the engine, and are racing the truck, there's no need to find a free-flowing exhaust.
Check out the websites of each manufacturer. Almost every one I've ever gone to has sound clips. They may not have one for your actual truck, but I'm sure you can find something close to just give you an idea.

Hey Guys,
Well you were right as far as the dual exhuast went. I can get a custom dual exhuast system from my local muffler shop for about $300.00 installed including chrome tips. Of course, price varies depending on the muffler. I personally like the Gibson sound. Thanks again for the advice.

No problem... enjoy the new exhaust. Small word of advice, opt for the Polished Stainless Steel tips, if any salt gets on those chrome tips, they're shot.

aluminum foil and pepsi will take care of that.... (sounds odd but works, trust me I live in florida on the beach evaparated salt water + chrome is corrosion, but notthing aluminum foil and cola cant fix.)
as for dual exhaust I was wanting a dual rear exit with flowmaster 40series that a good setup?

I know about it, and doesn't work well when you have rock salt corrosion. They drop that here on the roads during the winter.
and as I said before, it all comes down to sound preference. I believe Flowmaster does have a sound clip of our truck.
