Hi All, Just wondered if anyone here has ever tried painting chrome?

I heard that you either have to sandblast it or dunk it in some sort of acid to remove the chrome finish? Does anyone know much about it?

Chrome is a tough coating to beat - get a plater to do it. You're talking a hydrochloric dip tank followed with rust removal then phosphate bath then powder coat. To do it yourself it will be at least 500 in chemicals plus the equipment. Almost impossible to do it on the ground. Another alternative is sand blasting. But plan to be there a while.
