My back up lights are on whenever the trans is in a gear, any gear, anything but neutral.  I have replaced both the neutral  and back up light switches on the trans.  Two mechanics have wasted over 5 hours looking for something obvious like a broken wire or ????   The lights come on whenever the trans is in a gear.  When I shift from one gear to another, the lights go out when in neutral.  The fix I have used for now is to unplug the back up switch at the back of the trans, wrap the two plugs in tape and stick a flashlight out the window when I need to back up.  Truck is a 2001 Frontier 2wd extra cab 4 cyl 5 spd with 90,000 miles.  This problem was a dealer installed option ( not on purpose) when I bought the truck 3 months ago.  Any ideas??
