Hello all. I live in Yumbo out side the city of Cali, Colombia. I´m expecting to take delivery this week of a 2008 4-door Nissan Frontier 4x4 AX with the KA24DE 4 cyl. gasoline engine. It´s supposed to put out 150 hp, about 24 hp more than the Mazda 2600 I´m trading in. Dealer says I can use regular which would be a good thing since extra is about a dollar more a gallon. I have not seen the manual yet though to confirm that. It comes with factory air and I´ve ordered dealer electric windows. Apart from that it´s really bare bones. Even has manual hubs which surprises me in this day and age even in Colombia. The dealer says it´s made in Japan but I have doubts about that since I believe there is a plant in nearby Brazil. Soon as I get it I´ll post some pictures.

Pitter;

Welcome to the group!

I really was hoping others could answer your questions. Manual hubs used to be standard on the cheaper models. Auto-hubs were standard on my ‘High-end' 99 Frontier SE.

... In the U.S.A. they put a tag in the door jam stating the country of origin…

Hope you enjoy the forum…

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

It would be nice if our members would add their vehicle information to their signature (similar to mine) plus add their City and State . A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. Or drink all your beer!

Thanks Lakota, yes the high end versions here have auto hubs too. I´m hoping I can pick up air and oil filters on my trips to the states since I like to change them a lot and here the non-factory replacement parts are often junk. Price for this truck if anyone is interested was 49´000,000 Colombian pesos or about $25K US.

Corn Ethanol = Renewable Energy?  BS

"When you take out more nutrients and organic matter from the soil than you put back in, you are "mining" the topsoil. The organic matter is especially important, since that’s what prevents erosion, improves soil structure, health, water retention, and gives the next crop its nutrition. Modern agriculture only addresses the nutritional component by adding fossil-fuel based fertilizers, and because the soil is unhealthy from a lack of organic matter, copes with insects and disease with oil-based pesticides.”
