Hey guys/girls.

I currently drive an '03 Pontiac Grand AM. I love the car but I am thinking of a change. I have always liked the frontier so today I went out looking around. I found some good (or so I think) buys. Right now Im on the forum looking into the future of the truck if I buy it. Im big into modding my cars. I am also looking at known problems with the vehicles. If I do buy one, it is going to be between an 03-ish supercharged, and most likely 4WD. can anyone give me an idea of what to expect as far as problems with the truck? Thanks, I am looking forward to learning a lot while Im here. Kevin M

Here is what I know the supercharged motor is is only 20 more horsepower than the none supercharged motor also the supercharged motor needs 91 or higer octane. Around 80-100,000 miles water pumps and timing belt goes south.

Welcome to the forum.

Honestly, get a non supercharged and work on getting a Squire's Turbo System if you want more power. Jim Wolf Technology makes a few goodies for the VG33E. There's even a write up being worked on for swapping the 4.5L pistons into them.

i drove a frontier sc maybe 03 or 04 not sure had 40k at the stealership ,but wasnt impress with the take off , iwas gonna trade my 02 ,frontier sc , i decided not mine was alot faster and has 60k at the time. that 4x felt sluggish heavy like
