im new here too, and new to nissan. i formally owned a 93 isuzu single cab short bed 4x4 5-speed with a 3.1L v-6. well i got rearended and it got totaled.
so my new truck is a 06 SE KC 4x4 6-speed 4.0L v-6 with 32k miles, it has no extra features.... no power locks no power windows, no cruise control, i wish it had manuel locking 4x4 instead of the little knob. It is a stripped down work truck basically. At least it is red with the dark gray interior. (cloth seats) I knew the previous owner and knew the truck was a steal with the custom front and rear bumpers the 9000lb warn winch with the synthetic winch rope, warn m-8000 winch mounted in the rear bumper, custom 1/4" steel skid plates running front to rear all thanks to shrockworks, and two hella off road lights mounted on the front bumper, detroit tru trak posi rearend, 3" lift kit, Bilstein shocks, total chaos upper control arms, custom fab tool box, (tool box and bed are rhino lined) mounted inside the tool box are 2 extra optima battery hooked to a 1200 watt inverter (all batteries are hooked together) 2* advanced timing, 285/75R-16 firestone destination M/T, front mud gaurds have been removed. i havnt had the truck very long but im impressed with the power it has concidering all the extra metal. but it does show through my gas milage. at 12mpg at first but i was able to get 15mpg today. (mostly highway) I dont remeber exactly what he did with the sway bar but I think he just deleted it for articulation. IMO the truck is pretty much complete, i just want to add a few more details... the 'smoker vents' or rain vents to the windows. but the main thing that i want is to 'chuck norris' it. i want to build a custom headache rack to mount lights above the cab.
When it came to compact/mid-size trucks i loved my isuzu, but i was always a toyota fan at heart but their newer products are just cheaply made and over priced. They just need to throw them all away and go back to 1984 when they actually made a decent vehicle. After comparing I see that I made a good investment and the right choice to go with Nissan, more power, better ride, and seems to just be better built, and it looks good too. It should last me forever if i take care of it cause i know he babied it the whole time he had it... mobil 1 oil change like every 2500 miles (i worked with the guy for over a year at a lube shop so this is true) Alot of money has been poured into this truck and alot of thought from the day it was first bought to the last bolt that was turned. I can see myself driving it for the next 20 years.
