Dunno why I haven't come here before, as I do the majority of my own work, and have owned my 98 4x4 2.4L for around 8 years, and she is 14 years old this month. A little over a year ago, I had the clutch rebuilt ($1200), and since my last oil change I have had the head gasket replaced ($2350) and exhaust manifold replaced (CA emissions, $850). I planned on doing the manifold myself, but I thought I'd need certified emissions work done anyways... Plus I don't usually have a garage to wrench on it in.
I figure she has around 160-170k miles, maybe less, but the electronics got messed up by a lost battery terminal ground and Nissan doesn't make the part that would correct it anymore. Despite the high mileage, she looks pretty good, and is in pretty good shape. Now that I have dropped over $4k in to her, with another $1k estimated coming up, I want to keep her around, just not as a daily driver.
