what kind of Head are you looking at?  do you wand To beable to play a Ipod through the radio?  because some of the heads alone will run you in the upper 250's.  secondly what kind of speakers do you want? are you going to install it yourself?  Or are you going to have someone else do it?

Hey, this is what I did for my system,

I started with a lower end Kenwood deck, it has subwoofer pre-out x1 (if you are going to have a sub, it's 100% necessary) for about 99$ on sale, 129$ normally

2x 6 1/2 MTX components on sale 59$, 89$ normally

340W Dual amp 29.99$ on sale, 89$ normally

1x 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch 1 subwoofer, 49$ on sale, 129.99 normally

generic enclosure $30

I turn the bass all the way down on the entire system, turn the amp's gain up all the way and turn the subwoofer up and down as necessary on the deck, speakers are great all the way up, and the subwoofer is a small enough one to hit fast, but big enough with enough excursion to hit fairly deep. I have my freq set to 60hz on the amp and 80hz on the deck, it hits almost as hard in my truck, as my buddy's 1200w 2 12" RF punch 1 subs in his civic.

*Edited for spelling*
