crutchfield says that both front and back and 6 3/4 but i
just removed my rear door panel and the rear speakers are a
small 3 bolt patterned speaker... can anyone help?

I have an 02 CC and my rear door speakers were either 4 or 4.25 inch, I can't remember exactly. Your '00 should be the same. I replaced them with 5.25 inch speakers and had to do a little drilling to make them fit because I could only line up 2 screw holes.
