I have a 2000 frontier in which the alarm continues to go off. Recently all of the dummy lights turned on and the battery is now dead. I tried using the key on the driver side door however all that does is shut it off temporarily. Does anyone have any info on this? thanks

Remove the battery from your remotes to eliminate the possibility of one of them malfunctioning. See if the dome lite comes on when you open each door, unplug the hood swittch to eliminate it, possibly one of the switches on the door lock cyls is corroded or malfunctioning.

the cyls seem ok, now even if i keep the doors unlocked all the dummy lights come on. Could this be a sign of major electrical issues or is it still an alarm issue?

Yeah its the factory anti-theft system. When i purchased the truck it did not come with any remotes. To turn off the alarm i have to use the key. It is a 2000, 2.4L M/T. According to the Haynes wiring schematic there is a theft system relay next to the ECI which could possibly be the cause. I ordered it from courtesynissan.com along with a keyless entry remote. Hopefully this will fix it.

..

It just might be a sequence thing with the door locks. Check out this thread;

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S.

Delusional style of thinking seems to fly well in Wastington D.C.

You need to check the magnetic switches that are attached to the lock c yls., not just the cyls themselves.
