My 01 frontier xe runs on only 3 cylinders when it gets warmed up. New
plugs, wires, rotor, D cap, nothing seems to help. Any ideas? My mechanic
wants to put on a new distributor. Is she a goner?

Just got it back from the mechanic. He says the problem is electrical and
has replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and distributer( after market). We did
discover that as long as you turn off the overdrive it runs fine (the service
engine light blinks but no more shuttering). Not sure where to go next.
Can't afford to dump much more $ into it.

If the ses lite is flashing, that means there is a misfire, I would find the cause of the misfire before you destroy a cat if you haven't already. PS find a technician that knows what he is doing rather than throwing parts at it!
