2000 Frontier 4WD 5 speed 6 cyl. 3.3. 70 mph in 5th gear - 3000 rpm. Something doesn't seem right. Am I missing something here? I have had a dozen trucks over the last 25 years and this can't be normal.

Any feedback?

My 04 Frontier V6 @ 60mph 5th Gear 2500rpm the gear ratio is lower. I dont have any Freeways where I live only highway roads and streets. So I rarely go over 55mph. Only if theres a emergency. So that sounds normal. My 04 Toyota 4Runner V6 Auto @ 60mph less than 2000rpm.

My 02 V6 RWD Auto is usually around 2800 rpm at 70-75. A little higher if the engine hasn't warmed up yet. I drive on the interstate everyday to work usually between 70 and 80 mph.
