i have 2000 nissan frontier truck. the a/c will work sometimes and sometimes not. when it works it freezes you out. other times it throws out warm air. weve had the dryer replaced, it has been vaccumed out and put back in, it has no leaks, any ides???

sounds like the drain for your evaporator is plugged. Do you notice water on the ground while it's running?

If the drain is plugged all the condensation stays in the box, then freezes over the evaporator. the system then shuts down the AC compressor till it's clear.

well my '98 was doing the same back and forth with the A/C too and it isn't the drain plug. I just barely got it home. The A/C has been acting up for about a month. Well yesterday it finally went a step further. The radio was going off and on everytime I played with the A/C switch. And furtermore, the Air Bag light kept going off and on. My truck is possessed.

The final problem came when the engine started losing power and then just finally died. And today, i went to start it and my BRAND NEW battery is dead.

WFT is going on????

I've pondered your problem mickey, the only thing I can think of is you've got a short somewhere in the AC wiring. As for the battery being dead, there's something still on when you have the key off.

I thought the same thing about a loose ground wire. But the engine started really losing power. What would cause that? Could the alternator be the problem or mayb even the computer?
