I have a 2003 frontier.

The air conditioning belts squeal like crazy when the compressor kicks on,
especially on hot days when I just start the truck. It doesn't squeal unless it's
over 2500 rpm or higher.

I have replaced all three belts, and even had a couple mechanics try doing
something. I'm wondering if this is a compressor issue, or something simple
that we have all overlooked. Any insight would be appreciated.

Are they GENUINE NISSAN BELTS????? Try spraying the clutch assembly with brake parts cleaner.

Yes I bought the belts from my dealer. After seeing my buddy but an OEM
belt and have it snap on the freeway, I learned his lesson for him.

I'll take your suggestion and let you know. Thanks

Mine did the same thing when I put new belts on.  The new A/C belt stretched quite a bit after a few hundred miles.  I had to re-tighten it twice, and that finally did away with the screech.  While I wish the 4-cyl had a serpentine belt with a spring-loaded tensioner, I now have the belt tightening procedure down to an art.
