Bought a pair of 9007  100W/80W headlight elements for my 2003 Frontier because the OEM lights were just too dim.

Installed these bulbs and love them! The blue color (8500K) was sort of hard to get used to at first but now I prefer them over the white.

The problem I'm having is the headlight sockets/pigtails are not heavy enough and the female spade connectors are getting hot and burning out. I have replaced the original sockets with heavy duty ones from Auto Zone, but they were no better than what I had.
Should I build a headlight relay or just try to find a socket/pigtail that will carry the increased amperage?

I would honestly just upgrade to an actual HID setup.

I kept running into problems with my headlight wiring on my old Frontier when I ran the 100w, eventually I had to step down to the 65/45.  The only way i can see getting away with keeping those 100s is to solder 12 ga wire directly to the terminals and bypass using a plug.  But as you can see this will cause problems when your bulbs burn out.

Any HID brand preference?
Thanks!
