I have a 2008 Frontier 4WD V6/6-speed with 52,000 trouble free miles, but the now the 4WD trouble light is coming on, but not always coming on the next time the truck is started.  Of course, when at the dealer this light was off and the computer did not record any fault code.  I did notice it tends to happen after very hard rains so I suspect an electrical issue.  Any suggestions?   Thanks!

Look very carefully at the connections and wiring on the
4WD actuator(back of the transfer). May have moisture
getting in and causing your concern.

Frontierguy had the right idea, moisture, but it was in a different area... I'd had my windshield replaced over the winter, and the new windshield was leaking.    Water was soaking the entire passenger's side carpet, and presumably affecting the 4WD control as well.   After having the windshield removed and resealed, the 4WD trouble light issue is gone as well.

Thanks for the lead!
