Hi, I've already done some major work on this truck, change the knock sensor, and while there changed the gaskets. Getting to the knock sensor was a major task. However, my truck is still misfiring and my mechanic scanned for issues and came up with PO300 and PO400 and suggested I replace the Bank-two cat converter (front passanger side).
I'd like to know what those codes actually mean before I run off and spend another chunk!
I have a 2000 Frontier Crew Cab XE, 6 cyl. 3.3L
I'd appreciate your input!
Thanks

P0300 is multi cyl misfire, most likely due to dirt and/or
moisture in the dist cap or plug wires shorting to ground.
Spray wires with water to check for shorts to ground. P0400
is due to EGR system, most likely valve is sticking(causing
the misfire). At any rate, you would be better off finding
a technician as opposed to a mechanic that just wants to
replace unneeded parts. And stick with Genuine Nissan parts
please!
