Seven year Frontier owner just wondering off the streets in need of a little help...

I'm wondering if anyone here can give me an idea what suspension issues I should be
looking out for on my 2002 truck with 112,000 miles. Lately, at highway speeds, it
feels like I'm always driving in gusty winds even when the weather is perfect. That is to
say, my front end wants to drift back and forth, requiring constant corrective input to
keep her between the lines. I've had multiple alignments done, and my tires are good
(Michelin XTL's on the front, regularly rotated with even wear). Everything is bone stock
on this truck except for some Rancho shocks I put on the back about 3,000 miles ago.

Is there anything I should be looking out for? As you may have guessed, I'm not very knowledgeable on the intricacies of suspensions. I am however,
otherwise capable of my own maintenance and plan to make all repairs myself unless the collective strongly suggests otherwise for some reason.

Any help is appreciated.

..

Welcome to the group!

My Frontier acted that way a little when it was new. The dealership checked it and said it was in ‘spec’. I took it to an independent shop with a very good reputation. The front end man said it was in “spec’ but he tweaked a setting on one side and changed the toe-in. It has driven perfect ever since. You may have several components with a little wear that added together are causing the problem.

Good Luck.. Don S.
