MY 9 day old 2000 Frontier XE w/ 88K SPEEDOMETER & ODOMETER quit on me on the interstate. Service Engine Soon light ON Tachometer is intact. I memorized when in 5th gear where some speed points were. 47 @ 2k and 72 @ 3k.
I hope from what I have read it starts working.
I am not a person who is mechanical or who can take stuff apart, and put it back together without having extra pieces. PERIOD.
I am going to need some cold hard facts. Please Help.
Can this be fixed in a driveway or must/should I go to a garage?
Thanks. Best, Alex3

Possible speed sensor in the trans is NG or the gear on it
has stripped. Possible the screws on back of the meter assy
need to be tightened. Sounds like it needs to go to a competent repair shop.
