So I was brought to this forum when I googled about fuel-
gauge issues... I read alot about 2010 vehicles haveing
this issue, but not one was mention about the 2011. Has
anyone heard if the 2011 had an volunteer recall about
the fuel-gauge reading incorrectly? When I mention it to
the service department tech guy he told me that there was
a recall on that part. I am kinda tick off that they just
sold me this vehicle brand new off the lot less then a
month ago. How could they sell me a vehicle with a recall
part? Not that it was a big safty issue, but i'm peed
that I have to take my vehicle back in for service, after
just a week I just got it back from my upgrades... Geez.
I would like to know if there was a information release
from Nissan about the part recall, maybe I can get
acouple of free cash wash details out of all this b.s....
Thanks!

If it was a safety issue the repair is done before the
vehicle leaves the lot. Other issues are dealt with by
mailings to the owners. I am not aware of a recall on the
fuel sender for the '11, are you sure it wasn't something
else? What does your receipt indicate?

It seems that a cable with the floater had came unloose
from it clip and was holding the floater down. They took
care of the issue. But I was upset that the service guy
called me and told me that there was nothing wrong and that
there was no recall, and I had to explain to him a second
time that there was an issue cause the gauge wasn't reading
right. He shouldn't have called me to tell me that there
wasn't anything wrong when I knew for a fact that there
was. and they found it.

Again, there is no recall, you just happened to have an
isolated incident of a faulty part. Some service writers
like to "ASSUME" and fabricate stories rather than deal
with the truth and facts.
