Have a 2010 Pro 4X Frontier with squeaky brakes... It is loudest in the morning... Probably because of condensation build-up... I have gone to the dealer
several times... On the forth time, they supposedly
changed the front brakes. Truck has still been
squeaking... Sometimes it goes away after driving a
reasonable distance. Only happens at real slow speeds
(parking lot like driving).

Wanted to see if other Frontier owners had experienced
the same problem and/or if there was any solution to the
problem.

Dealer says all breaks can squeak... Coarse when he said
that, I was a bit of a wise guy and asked him "does it
say that in the manual?" Maybe it is something I just
have to live with?

Doing some research on the internet indicates that it is
the hard metal used in the brake...

YES, they all do it. Mine has done it off and on for the
first 30K miles, haven't heard it for the last 10K. If you
look at the pads, there are large pieces of metal that
appear as the pads wear, as they wear through these pieces
you get noise until the piece is worn out, then as the pads
wear down to another piece of metal, etc. etc. There is a
NTB11-021, that describes how to install moly grease to the
pad retainers to help reduce the noise. The pads themselves
are not replaced during this procedure.

My new 2011 frontier sv cc does the same thing,  My brakes squeal when they are cold especially when I leave my house going through my neighborhod.  Must be the brand of shoes nissan is using?

Same problem with my 2010 SE crew cab.  Brakes squealed at very slow speed (leaving driveway) and they felt a little spongy.  Took it to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong and since they were ceramic pads, they were prone to squeal until they warmed up.  Finally got tired of listening to the brakes so I went to NAPA and got some new pads and synthetic grease for the contact points on the back plate.  The pads were pretty unique--the ones I got were color coded so that the red dot one went on the inside and the blue dot one went on the outside.  After I got them installed, there were no more problems with noise and the braking was much more firm--a huge improvement over the OEM junk they installed at the factory.

No issues on my 2008, knock on wood, would ceramic aftermarket brakes be a good choice?

Nissan uses ceramic brakes from the factory.

I have not had any issues with my 2012 and have not heard of any issues regarding excessive brake squeal....seems like an individual issue and should be handled on a case-by-case basis.

I'm not sure what you're mechanical ability is but if you're able to, apply brake high-temp lubricant grease on the back of the pads and BETWEEN the back of the pad and the shim.  It's important that the area behind the shim gets some lube otherwise they will squeak all the time.  Apply some lube on the ends of the pad and on the caliper mounting bracket where the pads slide and you should be set.  If they STILL squeal even after the pads have been lubed and the caliper pad slides have been well cleaned, the pads must be replaced.

A brake squeal is minor issue and it's interesting to me how the dealer would keep giving a vehicle back to you with the squeal still present every time...it's not like its a high end repair.

I have a 2001 Crew Cab and only my rear drum brakes squeal in the morning when I leave to work.  Once I get going down the street and stop at the light it stops.  The only way I have gotten them to stop is to pull the drum off and clean it off with some brake cleaner.  That stops the squealing for a while until they get dirty again.  Normally about 3-4 months and it comes back.  I know the shoes are probably due for a change but other than that its not bad.

FrontierGuy is right about disc brake pads... they have a piece in them that make squeal when they are worn down past a point to tell you that you need to replace them.

WXWZRD has a good idea to help with noise... that grease can make all the difference if you pull the wheel off, then pull the caliper off and apply grease to
the back of the brake pad if theres none on there.  You can usually buy a small packet of it at your local autoparts store for like 99 cents.
