Hello - my name is Perry.
I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier. It is a bear trying to start when it sits for a day or two.
It acts as if there isn't any gas.
It starts just fine throughout the day once I can get the thing started though.
Every now and then a small cloud of gray smoke will come out after the engine starts, even when the engine is warmed up and I start it again.
Thanks, guys.

Okay, did more research, and here are the possibilities:
1) Bad ECM relay. But if it is bad, why will the truck start just fine when the engine is warm?
2) Bad code in key. Again, if that is the problem, the truck wouldn't start, period.
3) IMPD Module.
4) Crank or camshaft sensor.
5) Fuel injectors (voltage).
6) Wear and play on the distributor.
7) Intelligent Power Distributor Module.
8) Fuel relay fuse.
I could spend well over $1,000 in parts before finally finding out what the problem is.
Any ideas around this?
What a nightmare. :-(

Need just a little bit more info. Like which motor do you
have any how many miles.
Starting off as you can tell it's a huge list of what might
be wrong, it's just a matter of narrowing it down.
There's even more, like bad plugs, fuel pump, clogged fuel
filter.

#1 it does not have a distributor. Are you using a Genuine
Nissan oil impregnated air filter? Possible dirty MAFS. Any
check engine lite? Fuel filter is incorporated into the
pump assy., Would cause more of a concern under load. How
many miles?

It's got around 50,000 miles on it.
New plugs.
Fairly new and the right fuel filter, but it's not dirty enough for it to get the truck acting like it is.
I -- think -- it is the pump, because as long as I start it everyday and not let it sit, it will start. So I am thinking that the pump isn't strong enough to keep pressure on the gas from the tank to the engine. It goes down overtime.
I haven't had a pressure check done because it starts up just fine whenever I showed it to my mechanic. Wouldn't ya just know it!
Then it will have to sit for a few days before I can show it to him again. Hell, sometimes it takes almost a week of sitting for it to act up.
A big mess.
Thanks, guys for your replies, and for any other ideas you may have.
