i have a 2000 nissan frontier v6 3.3l dessert 2wd.my upper ball joints are leaking,and id like to know any info on changing them out with new ones.is it as simple as jacking my front end up and getting underneath and unbolting it from my swing arm? im 17 this is my first car/truck still learning about her but need a little help.

Sorry but it's not that simple. You have to unload the spring (torsion bar) to relieve pressure on the control arms and ball joints. You better get some qualified help on this project. I've never done it on a Frontier But the last time I did a ball joint was about 30 years ago and I still have the pickle-fork to prove it!!

The pickle- fork was a tool used to pry the ball joint out of the control arm.

Take it to a mechanic and see what he says.

+1 on what Lakota says.  Watch someone do it and ask a lot of questions.  At 17, you have a lot of time to learn these things and over the years, it will save you a lot of money.  Don't try to do something that could result in an accident if done improperly!
