Hi, I have a 2003 4 cylinder Frontier, and I'm having the A/C problem
everyone seems to have with these trucks. I already took it to my
mechanic, and he just had leaking component replaced. Thought that did
the trick, but a week later the A/C just gave out. Thanks to the internet, I
found out that I should try to change the thermo amp. I'm in the middle of
that process right as we speak, but I can't for the life of me figure out:

A. How to actually disconnect this connector piece at the front of this box.
This thing seems to just be STUCK. I understand you have to pull up on it,
but it's just not budging. Is there something I'm missing in trying
disconnect these wires?

B. I'm confused because this piece doesn't look anything like the thermo
amp I bought, though plenty of research and double checking indicates
that I did buy the correct piece. I'm assuming despite the difference in
physical appearance, these pieces are interchangeable, right?

Original "thermo amp"--

Replacement--

Would greatly appreciate some help and advice. Thanks!

You have to "squeeze" the release tab on the connector for
it to separate. Is the replacement an aftermarket or from
Nissan?

The replacement is from Nissan.
