Hi,
Have a 2000 Frontier V6 4x4. The electric fan for the a/c comes on after driving for about 5 miles. A/C isn't on. Engine isn't overheating, temp gauge working fine.
Any ideas as to why the fan is always on after short drive ? A/c is cooling fine also, but as I said it isn't even on and the fan comes on. Clutch, belt driven fan seems to be working fine. I thought electric fan was just for a/c use.

it is controlled by the ecu and the triple pressure switch.
i don't have info at home on the parameters for operation.
if the ambient temp is high and a/c is not on, i believe it
should operate.

Ok, Thank you for your reply. After checking things out more, I think I am going to have to replace the fan clutch. Not much resistance when turning it by hand and some play in it. Seems to be the reason electric fan is coming on.
