3.3L Supercharged 2001 Frontier.
Just died on the road.  No power to pin 5 of distributor plug and I wondered if that was normal for the code 340.  Should power come back after resetting the code or should it be there always?  Same with ECU 117, 67 and 72 should be 12v right?  Distributor turns when cranking but get spitting coughing then nothing.

Have you looked under the inspection plate to see if there
is any debris in there or if the shaft is loose? Most
likely the dist. has failed. I have no access to info on
wiring diagrams(not working for 6-8 wks.) Timing belt is
due @105K if you haven't already done it.

Well I did the timming belt at 105 myself.  one year ago I replaced the distributor because of the loose shaft.  I also found the screw in the center of the rotor shaft loose on the new one and tightened that one.  I just found this test procedure I'm going to do.  easyautodiagnostics.com/index_nissan_3.0L_3.5L/index_of_arti cles_1.php once I do that I'll repost.  By the way, I am getting power to the #5 wire and I get 5v from the 3rd wire when I crank but no 120degree voltage when I crank for that on the fourth wire.  Thanks for the response.

Well I purchased a reman distributor and installed it.  Works like a charm.  I allso noticed an improved power by replacing the the 2 vacuum hoses behind the intake and the fuel vacuum lines. What's anyones advice on replacing fuel injectors.  After this many miles they have to be worn. 140,000 miles.Clap

Very rarely do I ever see an injector fail, usually due to
rust or dirt. Add injector cleaner to tank occasionally.

Well, Happened again.  The reman distributor failed after a few weeks.  Anybody know of any reason I keep burning out the Cam Sensor?  The company is sending me a new one but I just hate breaking down who knows where.  I have to keep a spare one in the car all the time.  Could there be a short that is causing the burnout?
I put my old Nissan one back in.

Get a Genuine Nissan dist. or a used one from salvage yard.
