After trying to follow up on some advice that I got on
Frontier forums I am getting the impression that there
is no Thermal Control Amplifier on a 2006 Frontier. The
FSM talks about an Intake Sensor; does this perform a
similar function on my 2006 that the TCA does on 1st
generation Frontiers? Or am I strictly looking at an
issue with the IPDM? I have not yet found anything in
the FSM about the IPDM.
I took off the glovebox to check and there were no wires
going into the evaporator box like there seem to be if
there is a TCA in there.
In a nutshell, I am getting no power at the compressor
(magnetic clutch) or at the pressure switch, so this is
not a low R134 problem. I do have power on both sides of
the AC fuse. Could this be an intake sensor problem? Any
ideas for troubleshooting this issue would be greatly
appreciated.

..
Something has to tell the compressor when to run and turn off. I am old school and modern fools spend too much time trying to figure out more ways to involve the computer and make them more expensive... Like $900.00 for one installed in an '04 Sentra in 2008!
But yes fuel injection is nice...
You might try hot wiring the clutch with engine off. It should make a clicking sound.
Sorry I couldn't help.. Don S..

I tried that before... I ran power directly from the
battery to the compressor and the clutch engaged.
