My garage has cleaned all the calipers and lubed the pistons, replaced the
master cylinder and bled the brakes, the pedal still is soft and goes all the way
to the floor when you hold it down. The truck still stops OK 2012 Pro4x crew
cab. Any information at this point would be appreciated. It goes back to the
 garage tomorrow.
How common is it to replace the master cylinder after 139000 miles? The fluid
tank never got any lower. are these brakes really difficult to bleed?

 Thanks

 Mick,

I've read that they have to be bled in a Very Certain
Pattern.   I haven't had to bleed mine yet on my '13 so I
 can't say.

I would download the Nissan Service Manual though, cause it
will tell you the exact procedure for bleeding the Brake's.

 Regards,

Well, they have led them 3 times. They said the anti lock brake module has an
internal diaphragm and that is leaking. The part is a dealer part and is
unabtanium right now. The brakes work fine, and no code so I am just going to
drive it and decide what to do if they find one. ABS module is $900.oo +.

 Mick,

 Check out this site:
 https://parts.nissanusa.com/findDealer.aspx?
 ref=/productdetails.aspx_modelYear=0*stockNumber=999mpl2550
 0p*ukey_product=90152328&zipCode=36523

Put in your Zip code to find a participateing dealer.
Amazing the difference in price's that the dealer part's
 department's are chargeing.

Put in the part #. If you need the part # go to
nissanpartsdeal.com and put in your vin # to find the part
 #.

Not all Dealer's sell part's for the same price, believe it
 or not.

Also once you have the part #, you can go to RockAuto.com,
as well as amazon and Ebay to seach by the part #. Some
Dealer's are also selling on amazon and Ebay. It's a Crazy
World, I know, and Price's are all over the place.   Even
on Nissan Coolant, I found one dealer selling it @ 15 $'s,
but wouldn't ship to me. :)

 Good Luck,

 Mick,

I just got an email from: Nissan Parts & Accessories
 Online (accessories@nissan-usa.com)

If you register with them as a VIP member, no cost to
join, they are giveing free shipping on 50 $'s or more
 through 3/28/22.

Remember it's participateing dealer's on that site, and not
all the dealer's will ship certain part's like Coolant,
etc. Just be aware and follow up with a phone call to
 check the online order status.

If you plan on keeping your Frontier for any length of
time, I would recommend downloading a Copy of the Geniune
Nissan Service Manual. Chilton and Hayne's don't compare.

 Most owner's with a Gen II Frontier with a V6 4L don't even
know that there is a specific procedure for changeing out
the Coolant. It's Simple, but not in the Owner's Manual,
only in the Service Manual. As well as the Specific
procedure for Bleeding the Brake Line's, and many other
Owner Do It Yourself Preventative Maintenance Procedure's
like Draining and Filling the ATF.

 Regards,

Thanks for the replies. What I really need to know is if the ABS module is really
in need of replacement. Does the ABS module have an internal diaphragm that
can leak air? I don't want to spend $1500 or more on a "lets replace this part
and see if that fixes the problem"job. Can something else be leaking air? I will
be going to a Nissan dealer next to see if they can diagnose this, test the ABS
module , find out for sure what the fork is the problem. I will definitely post any
results. Has anyone else had this problem?
