          Hi there,

I just bought a 2001 Frontier, and one of the problems it has is that the heater (blower) switch works only on 4. I have a feeling this is a typical problem, and I apologize if this gets asked all the time. Anyway, it's rather annoying, and I'm looking for a simple DIY fix. Can anyone help? Much obliged.

I have 1999 Frontier and have the same problem, the number 4 speed blower is not working. I have to giggle between 2 and 3 to make speed number 3 work.  I think the blower speed selector is one piece. I have not actually taken it apart.

I HAD IDENTICAL PROBLEM AFTER A FIELD MOUSE  GOT INTO THE VENTALATION DUCT AND ATTEMPTED TO NEST INSIDE THE BLOWER .  MUCH TO THE DEMISE OF THE MOUSE , IT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY DECAPITATED WHEN I TURNED THE BLOWER ON  WHICH OVERLOADED THE CIRCUIT.  THIS IS A QUICK FIX BY REMOVING THE ENTIRE  GLOVE BOX UNIT  (3 OR 4 SCREWS)  AND EXPOSING THE BLOWER RESISTOR.  IT  IS BASICALLY A PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD ABOUT THE SIZE OF AN INDEX CARD AND CAN BE FOUND BY LOCATING THE WIRE HARNESS WHICH HOLDS IT IN PLACE.  NISSAN DEALERS USUALLY HAVE THESE ON HAND FOR ABOUT  $21.  GOOD LUCK!!

THIS  WHOLE PROCEDURE CAN BE DONE IN ABOUT  10 MINUTES WITH PHILLIPS SCREW DRIVER AND A FLASH LIGHT!

Are you talking about the slide blower switch 1 thru 4 or blower itself?
