For the right offer I will sell my 98 Nissan Frontier that just refuses to die...
It's not that I've neglected it or tried to kill it. Here's the details. I will gladly send pics to those that request them.
I bought the truck in December of 2007 from Mighty Auto Parts Corporation and had to debadge it. The glue from the old 'Mighty' and 'Auto Parts for Professional' Stickers are still on the body since I really wasn't picky about something I considered my every day beater so to speak. A little rubbing alcohol and that stuff can be off.
The vehicle does have a few cosmetic defects. There's a dent in the back as if a deer ran into it but it won't effect the integrity of the lenses or fail inspection. There's a dent in the Driver's Door that resulted in a nice sized rust spot that is not even close to through. A sander and some white primer will have it looking 10 footer in 5 mins. There's minor little rust spots on it otherwise that I never got around to fixing. The tail gate is shot but I can get another one for 150, once again just never got around to doing it. I did however travel from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to pick up a fiberglas cap for it that is in perfect condition, and despite it being for an extended cab (mine's a single cab) it fits with only 2 inches short on the back...it kept my papers dry so it does the trick. The last defect was when someone struck me in a parking lot along the door and fender, but I had it separated so the door and fender didn't rub and it still passed inspection.
Mechanically the thing is amazing. I can't even tell it's running on idle. Sometimes in squeaks but that can only be expected from something this old. The air conditioning still works but only holds charge for a little over a week until wherever it is leaking is found and patched. But the compressor and switches all still work.
It does have 279k on it...but it runs strong. The transmission and engine were both rebuilt by Mighty since 230k and I don't know exactly when, so it is no suprise that it can hold it's own for quite some time to come. The reason I want rid of it is because I own 4 other vehicles and just don't need this many sitting around. I drive it almost daily, and when my other vehicles happen to be out of commission or I just want something with air conditioning, I fire it up and drive it.
Now, as far as the cap goes, I will keep it if someone who wants the truck doesn't want it. I have the bed liner that came in it to go back in if the cap isn't on it. I can sell the cap separate, no big deal. Anyone interested in the cap can pick it up or pay for delivery before I get rid of the truck for compensation on gas and time, after that it is pick up only and I ask 200.
I am asking 800 for the truck. It has a brand new windshield, all new life time warranty brakes (pads, rotors, back as well) and new calipers and brakes on a dime. Could probably use new tires down the road but nothing that can't drive away today. Will need an alignment is all. I have junk tires on the front to wear down while it's out and they have plenty of life left in them. It's inspected til November of 08 and my mechanic tells me it will pass again pretty painlessly if not with flying colors. So anyone who wants to ask me more questions about it, contact me the following ways.
e-mail ryo@zoominternet.net phone 724-612-2067
I prefer phone to be in person, but e-mail is fine too as it directs to my phone. I need to make room for my new subaru quick, so I'd like to get something worked out and find this truck a good home and new owner asap. Let me know, this frontier needs Tender Love and Care and can be a great war horse for a person needing a daily driver good on gas or an every day hauler. It's served it's purpose for me more than I could have ever asked for and it pains me to get rid of it. But where I am going and need it to go it is of little use to me.
Thanks, Ryan
