I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions regarding upgrades to
the 44 on my 07 Frontier. I am considering a Detroit, ARB or TrueTrac.

My truck sees a lot of road driving, long trips, towing, etc. In terms of off
highway, it is more found on logging and timber roads or forrest service
and fire roads accessing trailheads when I am backpacking and camping.

I am not a rock crawler nor am I trying to build that kind of truck. Rather
I am looking to improve my odds when I return to my truck at a trailhead
after 5 days of rain and I have 10 miles of washed out forrest road to get
back through.

I am very appreciative for any thoughts.

Dannyg here. I lean towards the tru trac. Detroit full locker is kick butt if U don`t mind the licking they make around corners. The ARB from what I have seen is great. The only down fall I see is that you are at the mercy of a compressor to make sure you are locked.I know of someone that has a locker real close to a trutrac and he goes were my lockrites go but his truck is nicer on the street. If I`m not mistaken the trutrac has helicut gears in it

Thanks a lot for the info dude
Thats what I wanted to hear because it seemed to make sense for me
regarding the streets manners. I was wondering about the traction.
Should I consider stronger half shafts with a trutrac or is that going
overboard?
Thanks again

If you stay close to your stock tire size you should be fine. I can`t get the link for me but check out randys ring and pinion for the ratings. When you say half shafts your talking axle shafts of the rear. You should be fine with your axle shafts
