ok guys i have a 01 xe with a 4 cylinder and a 5 speed. i wanna build it up to be able to run in the desert. now i dont have much money so i cant go crazy. i guess i need a skid plate and i dont wanna go 4x4 i think ill do fine with a good lsd and i already have oversized tires i just need a lift i guess? i dont want a big one. just enough to run around. what size lift would i need? im good with the engine power i think. what would i need in all to build this thing? how much would it cost?

You could really bring it alive by going with some JWT parts, and upgrade the clutch.

The more you can swap out suspension wise, the better. I would spend the extra money and get some Bilstien Remote resivoirs. Either a 5150, or 7100 series. The amount of desert running you do, will determine which one to get.

A 6" lift would give you some room for travel, depending upon the tires you get.
