has anyone changed one before my truck is a 06 frontier se 4.0 motor 5 speed auto tranny Nissan has been giving me a fit when i asked how much 90.00 dollars i went and bought a wix in cabin filter for 22.00 dollars the 90.00 dollar was also installed how hard could it really be needed info is what tools to have ready info is what i need thanks!!! BTW nissan charged me 70.00 bucks for an castrol full synthiec oil change guess i1ll be changing it myself now on

Danny, the filter is behind the glove compartment.  Just pull in the sides of the plastic glove box (door is open when you do this) and it will rotate out.  This was not as obvious on mine as I thought but it does work.  The in-cabin filter is actually two peices in there.  Just take them out and put the new ones in and snap the plastic box back until the tabs lock.  No sense paying someone a ton of money for that.

BTW, my wife's Saturn filter can be changed in less than 60 seconds and they want something like $50 labor for that!!

danny here yours had snops mine looks like there 3 bolts holding the 2 halves togather

My snaps as I recall were little plastic tabs on the sides of the glovebox.  I had to pull the sides inward to release them but it was very easy once I understood the mechanism.  I did not have any bolts to work with and the filters are just laying in there.

Be careful. I broke the tab when replacing mine. I didn't force it, just a flaw in the design . Luckily, if you look right next to the tab there's a little hole which looks like you can use a screw on, maybe they expect these to break. I used a zip tie to hold the cover on rather than a screw.
