I'm looking at buying a 2000 Quad Cab SE with the off road package. I'm having a hard time finding what is actually in the off road package, can you guys help me out?

..

It would vary year to year. My '99 SE package had the LSD (that's the the important one) and it has been very good. And probably the rock rails and skid plates. I ordered it 'loaded' with every thing.

The LSD still  makes the rear tires squeal (at 48,000 miles) a little when I make a slow sharp turn on pavement. The LSD clutches do wear out with miles or abuse.  I don't remember what was in all the packages.

Have a good one..Don S..

There is the link.

It seems a bit high in price, but I'm assuming that dealer is just optimistic.

It looks good!

Make sure the Timing Belt & Water pump have been replaced. I forgot to mention Automatic Locking Hubs. Alway be sure to back up 6 to 10 feet to unlock them when returning to RWD.

Good Luck.. Don S..

Given it's a northern truck with a plastic bed liner I'd
try to take a look under there and see if there's any major
rust damage.

I love it when dealers get some details all mixed up. At
least they didn't advertise it as a Manual. drives me
insane when I'm browsing and there's a Auto thrown in as a
manual. Be interesting to see who spots what was listed
wrong.

kcidmil, good advice on the rust thing............I just
bought my 2011 Frontier CC SV with some options, including
the spray in bed liner you referred to...(OK,you said
plastic)................I have never bought used, as there
are no standards or fall backs in place, it is truly buyers
beware with a high risk factor for the buyer............

I appreciate the help. I have a daily drive and I'm looking for a 4x4 4door pickup. I'd prefer a Tacoma, but I don't want to spend tacoma money.
